Placenta Encapsulation

Ingesting your placenta in small doses throughout your postpartum period provides all sorts of amazing benefits. It is a way to re-introduce all those hormones and nutrients back into your body after the grand release of both baby and placenta being born. People who take placenta capsules report a decrease in postpartum depression and generally feel more emotionally stable. It also helps with restoring iron levels in your blood, increasing milk production, and aids in the return of the uterus to its original size.

My Process

I pick up the placenta from my client’s place of birth and typically have it processed into capsule form and returned within 72 hours. I take sanitation and cleanliness very seriously-- in addition to sanitizing and disinfecting my dedicated tools and workspace, I also wear a mask and gloves throughout the entire process.

First, I clean the placenta to remove blood clots and membrane. Next, I steam it for 20 minutes with warming herbs. Afterwards, I slice it into thin strips and arrange it in my dehydrator. After fully dehydrating, I process the placenta into a fine powder, and distribute it into edible capsules. Depending on the size of your placenta, you may get anywhere from 60-150 capsules!
